How to Use the Gutenberg Calendar Block in WordPress

The Gutenberg editor in WordPress includes a Calendar block. It allows you to display your posts in the calendar format. When you publish a new post, it is automatically added to the calendar on the publishing day. Once you click the date, it will take you to the posts published on the date.

Step 01: Find the Calendar Block in the Block Library

Get into a post/page. Hit the plus (+) button on the editor. Type Calendar in the search bar. The block will instantly appear with the icon you can see in the image below. Click to add the block to the editor.

Let’s first colorize the Text. Once you apply any color to the text, a new option ‘Link‘ will appear.

By colorizing the Link text, you can mark the specific dates on which the post was published with a different color. Apply your desired colors.

The Gutenberg Calendar block is very simple and straightforward. It doesn’t offer lots of features and functionalities. There are many Gutenberg block plugins with advanced calendar blocks. To enjoy more features in this block, you have to use any of those block plugins.

I will try to cover those block plugins, including their custom blocks, in some days in the future. Besides, if there is any special topic on WordPress you want me to discuss or write tutorials, let me know through the comment box. Thanks for your time and happy WordPressing.
